Osta

Osta's restaurant is in the city centre in a building that was formerly a bank. It is also a small hotel with 7 bedrooms on the upper floor.I've eaten there twice in the last few weeks and have been very impressed with both the service, food and the general decor. It's bright, clean and tastefully decorated. They do a two course express menu for �£6.95 currently, but there are quite a few items listed that have a supplemental charge in brackets. The menu is that little bit different though e.g. 'poached duck egg on toast with bacon, spinach and drizzled with hollandaise' is one of the starters and 'smoked haddock & baconwith crushed new potato and grain mustard sauce' one of their main courses. Colleagues who had these were very happy with their choices. I had a caesar salad on my first visit and the lamb curry on my second and they were both delicious. I have to say that all our meals were beautifully presented which made it that bit more special.A quick trip to the ladies which, although small, was clean and with lovely handwashes.Definitely recommend.
